The tomatoes came in all at once
They always do this. Nothing for six weeks and then forty pounds of them in a single Tuesday, sitting in bowls on every flat surface in the kitchen. We have had them in sandwiches, in salad, roasted, and twice straight off the vine standing up in the garden. I'll be giving them to anyone who wants some.

Five hours to the cabin, road construction all over
By the time we arrived the girls had learned every word of the same four songs, plus we listened to some oldies. The cabin is exactly as it was in 1998, down to the yellow kettle and the cupboard door that will not shut. Grandpa was happy to be there with us this time. The newer roof is holding up good, I hope another tree doesn't fall this year. There is a photograph somewhere of all eleven of us on the porch steps. Whoever has it, send it in.

First day of school

He was excited for school this year! Not enough sleepovers this summer I guess.

For the Family Birthday Party
Remember Lunch is at one o'clock on 7/1. There is room for everybody and there will be too much food, as usual. If you are bringing something, tell Marie so we don't have 200 cookies again. They are tempting and I ate too many last time.
