Write an email. That is the whole of it.

- The tomatoes came in all at once becomes the headline
This is example text. You can do bold and italics.
Attach 1 picture if you want, per article you submit. Only 1.
Worth adding to your contacts. It is the same address every time.
The details
Who gets the email I send?
The system reads it and puts it in the next issue of every newsletter you write for. You cannot aim an article at only one of them. That is deliberate, so one note reaches both sides of a family - but if you need to keep them apart, write from a different email address for each.
It has to come from your own address
You are recognised by the address you send from, so use the one the admin added. Mail from anywhere else is ignored quietly - no bounce, no reply. If nothing you send ever appears, check that first.
Being added sends you an email asking whether you want to write. Nothing you send is used until you press its Opt in button - and it is ignored just as quietly before then.
Always write a new email. Do not reply to an old one.
The subject line becomes the headline
Short ones read best. Past about 100 characters the rest moves down into the article instead, so nothing is lost - it just makes for an untidy headline.
Write as much or as little as you like
Your text is never shortened. One sentence is a perfectly good article. Bold, italics and links survive; sizes and colours do not, because the paper sets those itself so every article matches.
One picture per article
Attach several and only the first is used. Send the others as their own emails and each gets its own article. Pictures are resized so they load quickly on a phone - send the original rather than a screenshot if you can.
Video, PDFs and other attachments are ignored. This is not built for bulk photo sharing; if the family wants more, send those another way.
You get a reply saying what was used
Every submission is acknowledged automatically, naming the headline and which picture was kept. If that reply does not arrive, the email did not get through.
When does it actually arrive?
Whenever the newsletter is due - weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. If more comes in than one issue holds, writers take turns - everyone gets one in before anyone gets a second - and the rest waits for the next issue, your oldest first. This is not built for anything urgent.
Do I need to sign it?
No. Your name is already printed under every article, in whatever form the admin chose. Sign off anyway if you would rather - nothing you write is removed, so - Gran stays exactly where you put it.
Who is allowed to write?
Writers must be 14 or older. If somebody younger has news to share, have an adult send it for them.
Something has gone wrong
For anything about your own paper - who is on it, when it goes out - speak to whoever runs it. The address below reaches whoever runs Something Lately, the service itself, and is not where articles go.
